For $10 million you can make the oval office your bedroom

According to Urban Turf, a DC real estate guide, the listing web site Redfin had the White House listed, of all things, “for sale by owner.” Yup, the 55,000 square foot presidential pad was listed for sale for a cool $10 million, with a price per square foot of $182.00.

It is evident that ForeclosureResearch is not the only one with concerns over certain foreclosure reporting companies The Housing Assistance Council, a Washington DC non-profit, has also expressed concerns over foreclosure data in certain areas of the country. However, rarely will you see a cautionary note, or asterisks in this case, to forewarn readers that the number may require further information or that there is a considerable omission relating to the information.

It is now the second week in August and the rush for July foreclosure figures have begun. All foreclosure reporting companies have released their share of data to the media. The latest comes from a press release published August 11, 2008, “ForeclosureS.com: Pre-foreclosure Filings Set Record in July.” According to the article pre-foreclosure filings hit record highs in 14 states for the month of July.
