		<description>While I haven&#039;t taken the time to investigate the specific discrepancy above, I think the problem is that these different entities are reporting different things:
ForeclosureRadar = Notice of defaults filed in July.
HouseRebate = seems that perhaps they were indicating the total number they believe to currently be &quot;in&quot; the notice of default state (lasts a minimum of 3 months and can only be guessed at as there is no good way to no when someone is definitely &quot;out&quot; of that stage.
Your count = seems to be ALL filings, rather than just Notices of Default.
Wording is really important in these things. We go to great lengths to carefully word our monthly CA Foreclosure Report to be accurate. Still many people mis-interpret what we write - often to further a particular agenda.
